Most shops pick one material and get very good at it. This one covers four, because the parts our customers need tend to arrive together: a ceramic insulator, four magnets, a carbide punch and a PEEK housing in the same assembly, at the same small quantity. Each page below says what that family holds, what it costs you to specify, and where this shop stops.
All four share the same batch range, the same first-article policy and the same rule about tooling: it is a separate line on the quote, never folded into the part price.
Alumina, zirconia, silicon nitride, aluminium nitride, silicon carbide and machinable glass-ceramic. Bought as blanks, sold as tolerances: green machining before the furnace, diamond grinding after it, ±0.05 mm on ground features.
96–99.5% Al₂O₃ · 3Y-TZP · SN60–SN120 · AlN · SSiC
NdFeB, SmCo and ferrite in arc, tile, ring, block and multi-pole magnetised form. Wire-cut and ground to drawing, with the grade and the coating written on the quote rather than guessed at afterwards.
N35–N52 · H / SH / UH · NiCuNi, epoxy, zinc
Tungsten carbide and TiC-steel for parts that have to outlast the tool around them: non-standard inserts, punches, dies, nozzles, seal rings and form tools. Ground, not moulded, so a non-standard shape is the normal order rather than an exception.
WC-Co · TiC-steel · ground to drawing
PEEK, PTFE, POM, PPS and PI machined to drawing, and injection moulding from 100 pieces on an aluminium tool when the part earns it. Two processes, one drawing, one price per unit — and the tool quoted separately so you can see what it is.
PEEK · PTFE · POM · PPS · + moulding from 100
Find your part in the left column. The right column is where the answer lives, including the cases where the answer is "not us".
| If the part is… | Go to | Because |
|---|---|---|
| A blank, plate, ring or insulator that has to hold a tolerance after firing | Technical ceramics | The tolerance is made after sintering, not before |
| A magnet with a shape that is not a catalogue disc | Custom magnets | Arc, tile and multi-pole parts are cut from standard blanks |
| Something that wears: a punch, die, nozzle or seal face | Carbide parts | Ground carbide holds an edge that steel gives up on |
| A housing, bushing, jig or insulator in PEEK, PTFE or POM | Precision plastics | CNC for tens, moulding from a hundred |
| Five different parts that ship as one box | Send the whole assembly | Kitting and individual packing run here, with one shipment |
Written down here so you do not have to find it out at the quote stage.
Sintering belongs to the ceramics plants, plating and anodising to two finishing shops we have used for years. They appear on the quote as their own line with the partner named, and we carry the schedule.
A shop that quotes 5,000 pieces at a unit price will beat us on any part you can make 5,000 of. The batch range here is 1 to 2,000, and the work that suits it is the work nobody wants to set up for.
No ISO 9001, no AS9100, no IATF. What we do have is a dimensional report per critical feature, a material certificate per lot, and a first article you approve before the batch runs.
Customer drawings are not ours to publish. What you can see instead is on the examples page, and it is all made on our own account.
Material, quantity and the date you need it — that is enough for a first look. A dimensioned sketch or a marked-up photo works if a formal drawing does not exist yet.
